Mini ePaper Display with Temperature & YouTube Stats

Previously I guess about a year ago now, I decided to make a YouTube statistics monitor for my photography channel.

 

I decided it might be a good idea to add a simple temperature and humidity sensor into the mix. The DHT22 sensor are inexpensive and require just one i/o pin from the WeMOS.

Just solder the sensor’s signal to a spare I/O pin on the WeMOS. I used D6. Ensure also the sensor has GND and 3.3V power.

Once the wires are soldered on use a glue gun to keep them fixed. (I also fix the pins on the sensor too.)

Now that the DHT22 sensor is connected. It’s time to write some to ensure it works. I used the example from Losant – https://www.losant.com/blog/getting-started-with-the-esp8266-and-dht22-sensor

Then added some ePaper code to display the temperature value and finally added the YouTube API in.

What next to do ?

Add MQTT client to upload data to log history and graph it. Using http://www.thingstud.io or https://www.losant.com/
